AESC Maintenance Apprenticeship: Engineering & Electronics Technology

Today AESC and Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College (SKYCTC) representatives gather to celebrate the signing of four SKYCTC students as new full-time Maintenance Technicians with AESC. These students have completed their Associate’s in Applied Science degree in Engineering & Electronics Technology, with focus in Robotics and Automation, at SKYCTC.

AESC is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of performance batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The 30-gigawatt plant in Bowling Green’s Transpark will create 2,000 new skilled jobs for the region. In order to develop and train new talent for these jobs, AESC has partnered with SKYCTC Workforce Solutions to provide a Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship opportunity.

This apprenticeship allows individuals to have hands-on work experience, while earning their Associate’s degree at SKYCTC. After completing their degree, the graduates are being offered full-time positions with AESC, provided they maintain attendance and grade requirements. As employment opportunities at AESC ramp up, students will work part-time with AESC earning up to $20 per hour while they gain valuable hands-on experience.
